Pharmacy First Plus
The NHS Pharmacy First Scotland Plus service extends the support available through the standard Pharmacy First service, allowing patients to access assessment and treatment for a wider range of common conditions directly from the pharmacy.
At the Easterhouse Pharmacy, our team includes qualified Independent Prescribing Pharmacists who have completed advanced clinical training to provide enhanced prescribing services. This allows them to assess symptoms, offer professional advice, and where appropriate, prescribe suitable treatments for selected acute conditions without the need for referral to another healthcare provider.
By delivering convenient access to extended clinical care within the pharmacy, we aim to help patients receive timely treatment and expert support in a comfortable and accessible setting.

Extended Range of Conditions
With independent prescribing, we can treat a wider range of conditions and provide prescription medicines where appropriate. Our prescribing pharmacists can also provide regular oral contraception to suitable patients.
If you are pregnant, diabetic, have a weakened immune system, or feel extremely unwell you should contact your GP surgery first. If you are unable to be treated by a pharmacist, they will refer you to the appropriate healthcare professional.
